Gabriel J. Zaragoza is a criminal defense trial attorney and was a trial attorney and Head Deputy in the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office with more than twenty-five years of criminal jury trial experience in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. 

He has handled and tried many criminal cases throughout the County of Los Angeles including the Clara Shortridge Foltz Justice Center, Compton Superior Court, Long Beach Superior Court, Airport Superior Court (LAX), East Los Angeles Superior Court, El Monte Superior Court, Bellflower Superior Court, Downey Superior Court, Van Nuys Superior Court, Norwalk Superior Court, Torrance Superior Court, Pasadena Superior Court, Inglewood Superior Court, Metropolitan Superior Court as well as in the Orange County and San Diego County Superior Courts.

While with the Los Angeles County Public Defender, he was a Head Deputy of the Los Angeles Superior Court where he supervised trial lawyers who handled felony trial matters and a Head Deputy of the Public Integrity Assurance Section (PIAS) where he headed up the deputy public defenders who successfully won the vacating and dismissal of many wrongful criminal convictions for defendants due to the violation of their civil rights. He also was a Deputy-in-Charge of the East Los Angeles Superior Court and of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Airport Branch (LAX).

He is on the select panel of criminal trial attorneys who are appointed by the Los Angeles Superior Court, Independent Defense Counsel Office, to handle criminal matters. He is selected for the highest grade of the trial attorneys to handle felony criminal trials in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

He is a graduate of the Berkeley School of Law of the University of California at Berkeley where he earned his JURIS DOCTOR (J.D.) degree.
